The Limited was an American online clothing retailer that operated retail stores between the middle 1960s and the middle 2000s. After 2007, it became a brand, originally owned by the private equity firm Sun Capital Partners, now owned by another private equity firm Sycamore Partners. In January 2017 The Limited shut down all of its 250 stores, laid off 4,000 workers and filed for bankruptcy.

A former employee said this in a review “Had the worst experience of my life working for The Limited. It totally depends on the manager you get, but I guess it was just my kind of luck (Bad obviously). Mediocre colleagues with no support just because they seem jealous that you might do better. And an even more mediocre manager who does not assess based on the hard work done but more of being a 'yes man' kind of guy. The HR I had didn't seem to have her own brain because she was in the pocket of the manager and basically was a puppet."

"If you want to know what it's like on the inside go read the NYT articles about their culture. Power is held by a very small group of white men. Women's opinions are not welcomed. A very high level executive once called it a boys club and that is exactly what it is. Look at the leadership - all men. All white. And when L Brands had a chance to turn over a new leaf with the departure of Wexner what did they do? Promoted a white man from BBW. Leadership at VS? White male CFO. Sexism is ingrained in their culture and will not ever change unless all of the leaders are removed. But, by then probably no one will care about their brands anymore."

Very stressful job and you will never be appreciated for your hard work or going the extra mile. "Victoria Secret is part of LBRANDS and it is spiraling downward due to financial loses. The atmosphere has changed dramatically over the last few years. Nowadays it is all about doing more with less. As employees leave they are not replaced. Their work load is passed on to the next associate. The equipment breaks down daily and is not replaced. Maintenance can only try to continue to patch things. No raises for warehouse employees. Hours cut at any time on any day. Employees report to work just to be sent away unpaid for the day. Scanning systems are outdated and devices to scan with are outdated and continually malfunction. Training is inept and lacks consistency and professionalism. Employees hire in to a specific position for a specific pay rate, only to find out later that they must perform multiple jobs in multiple locations for no extra pay and be measured on their performance of jobs that they never expected to do. Employees are fired for not being able to do tasks that they never hired in to do.They have Cota bus lineThe bus never arrives on time"

"3 years invested to lbrands. On time. Exceeding sales expectations, picked up shifts when coworkers called in, never missed a work day. My manager found not doing her job. To try and save herself, she had to find a way to keep it. Even if it meant to force out top employees in her store. Worst company ever. Saw it time and time again. Don't ever think it won't happen to you too."

"** warehouse/factory** I worked in DC7 and I ended up quitting after 2 years. If I could give 0 stars I would. The work was easy, They just try to work you to death for little pay. Only time I received pay increases is during holidays season or whenever amazon was hiring lol but they take it away after the season is over. It depends on how bad they need the man power, they just might let you keep the pay raise (until things slow down) or just fire you without warning. Management takes the workers for granted. It's really about the numbers, so you'll see plenty come and go. They really dnt respect their employees and when you ask about any opportunities to move up they tell you there isn't none. They'll just move you around the warehouse to perform different task. I hear there is opportunities but mostly depends on how much you suck up to them and hopefully they'll like you enough; nothing really to do with work ethic. Supervisors/team leads gossip and get caught up in drama like the production workers and they just dnt seem to care enough; whether it's showing up on time or actually knowing who's who when it comes to sharing personal/private info. The whole time I worked there,On more than one occasion I was approached by the same supervisor G, telling me someone's business after I told her i'm not who she thinks I was; That was one of the many annoying, sad and frustrating parts about working there. However, I did meet some great and INTELLGENT ppl there. Unfortunaly I cant say the same about management or the leads, They all could benefit from being retrained, especially for"

"Was hired as a manager after one shift and was given virtually no training for the job and was scheduled for management shifts. Begged all management up to district manager for proper training and was never done. stores were a mess, not organized, and store management was never on the same page. Nobody worked together and made job assignments difficult for everyone. Was scheduled for 4 shifts in a 30-day period and requests to work or talk with scheduling management went unheeded. One of the absolute WORST work environments I have ever worked in. Being unemployed was a step up.no training, poor inconsistent hours, no stable management."

"Was hired on as a seasonal customer service. Had a 4 week training but after that they throw you to the wolves and if you don't get a sup who cares then you are SOL! Did really well with sales and service all through the season but still ended up not getting the job as a permanent team member. Was told in training that we would know long before the season was over if we were going to get hired on permanently. Then at the last minute my sup said I didn't get the job and only had 2 days notice to find other employment. Very disappointed. Would think a company like this would treat their staff better. "Would never recommend these guys! Sales men are pure con artists promised the world then screwed me over in the contract. they don't make it clear there is no cancellation period for limited businesses and con you into a 3 year contract when you only asked and thought you were signing up to a 12 month contract. 4 days after signing up i phoned and told the company i wasn't happy and was miss sold on the terms the guy on the phoned basically laughed and said your stuck in the contract there's nothing you can do. finally got a very nice girl in complaints but unfortunately once again her hands were tied and i was told tuff your stuck in the contract. I found this poor business considering i even used their terminal yet. i refused their items on deliver and out of absolute kindness they waived the £50 charge i should have received for this wasnt that very kind of them......when i was told i had to take their stuff the terminal and till that arrived weren't the ones i had discussed with the rep so i had to then pay extra to add the things i had discussed on and then had to wait 2 weeks for them to replace the faulty terminal they sent out. NEVER and i mean NEVER deal with these guys especially their absolute dodgy reps in Northern Ireland (the only part of the business that actually do their job are the complaints department but are restricted on how they can help) *****edit no you're wrong there Kim it's not bill payment I'm a cafe not a shop"
